The adapter comes with a stamp that says it's 85W, but when you go into the system profiler you will see that it's only giving you 60W.

after a lot of inspiring around my original charger broke and i was sick at the thought of buying a replacement from the apple cumulate for 80 dollars!! then i happened to come across this one on amazon, read the reviews and clear it was definitely worth a try to save 40 dollars, in the end just as good as the original looks tremendous works great saves you money i definitely recommend this charger for anyone in exigency of a charger that is inexpensive, for their expensive macbook btw works with any size macbook pro.I have a 15 inch macbook pro and this pony is very compatible also works on my friends 13 inch. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

I got what Amazon described and it works clear
I was dubious of what would happen when I one-clicked the order button for this item--some reviewers have received a balanced adapter that resembles the MacBook Pro adapter shipped by Apple (minus the Apple logo), others have received varying combinations of parts.
I received truly what was pictured next to the product description at the time I ordered: a long, white, rectangular pal with a MagSage connector attached at one end, and a female socket to accept the AC cord at the other end. The pal contains a switching power supply (AC, ~120-240V), which I can verify works reasonable fine on both 120VAC and 240VAC as I just returned from a central European freak out. The black label contains all appropriate regulatory endorsements with the exception of Underwriters' Labs (UL).
The adapter functions surely similarly to the OEM Apple adapter. The MagSafe connector appears to be an Apple-designed pigtail. Some reviewers said that the lighter on the connector remains on when it is unplugged from the MB. It appears that a capacitor is being discharged in the power reservoir, as the light eventually goes off. (The same behavior is apparent when the power supply itself is unplugged from the AC beginning.)
This is a fine replacement product for the Apple adapter, at about half the price. It is marginally less at the ready for traveling, as the MagSafe cord does not self-store on the adapter as it would on the Apple kind. But that is a minor quibble, and after three weeks of hard use I can recommend it.

60 watt adapter with an 85 watt tag
Sounds like there are multiple versions of this artifact floating around, but mine was a generic brick-style adapter with an 85-watt brand. To me, that was no big deal if it worked fine.
However, when connected and then queried via System Profiler in my new MacBook Pro 15" (heart i5 series), it shows 60 watts, which is not sufficient to power this laptop. The labels and similes are not accurate.

The parts maker has very financially embarrassed quality control...
I purchased one of these adapters about a month ago as a replacement for my pulverized magsafe adapter from my 17" macbook pro. While the adapter is billed as an 85W model, and also has 85W printed on the part itself, it will only production 60W (sufficient for a smaller MBP, but not 17" model) I contacted the seller and they promptly exchanged the part for a new one, and paid for carry back shipping for the defective part. Much to my dismay, the replacement also shows that it is an 85W model, but still has the exact same issuance. I am now asking the seller for a complete refund rather than another exchange.

DONT BUY...YOU WILL Mourn IT!!
installed my freestyle this year.....by may 1 it didn't work at all. followed instructions for set up and recharging perfectly as said. Will never buy anything from this manufacturer again!!

Awful!
Freestyle was fine for about two months or so. After that, the metal cover started to come off - as so many others have noted. This would have been filamentous, had it not been for the fact that the charge also stopped holding. Battery would die within half an hour or so, or less. And now it remains regular at a solid 0% charge after about 4 months of use. Essentially, Do NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT.

Doesn't Employment!
This freestyle worked with the charge it had out of the box but never once after that. It wont take a charge and is USELESS. You may think you will save a lot of spondulicks but in fact its a waste of money.

Mind to the other poor reviews!
I pondering, "Oh, those bad reviews can't all be correct. I can save some bucks ordering this battery." But, just like others have said, the mobile's cover comes off (literally becomes unglued), exposing the inside of the device. Mine altogether fell apart and couldn't be fixed earlier this evening, less than five months from when I bought it. Very meagre manufacturing to be sure. Get a different one - that's what I'm doing on Amazon right...now.
