The apple computer was received as advertised, although the vendor substandard to say there was no wireless card or that the OS system would have to be upgraded for most of todays technology. If you wanted to use just a tete- program or a few other simple programs it would be fine but did not meet my needs.
Tried to get in touch with the vendor several times to ask to return item and get money back as advertised. Vendor never called, returnned e-letters messages or letter.
Stay away from the Mac Specialist!
Awsome!!!
I bought one of these last week when I got it it would not arise on. So I waited two days to get it to come on and it wouldn't. So I had to send it back and wait for a new one to come. It only took a week to get the new one. I sent the one back on a Thursday and the next week on a Thursday I got the new one and it works considerable. They were very helpful in emailing me with my problems and very kind. I will use them again if I have to thank you. But use your judgement. thanks.
Nonpareil condition
I bought one of this laptops from Midwest Notebooks two weeks ago. It is in polished condition: fast, reliable--as apposed to a Windows PC--I just turned it on, it asked for the wireless watchword, and in 10 seconds I was on line. I don't regret having bought this computer specially because I needed one for my classroom display
Never received the well-organized - no response from seller
Be careful of out for these guys
Ordered computer 6 weeks ago and never recieved it
Made several attempts to resolve the issue and they don't moved
They never gave a tracking number for UPS. Should be standard MO when shipping a computer.
Thank goodnes I tolerant of American Express to pay for this.

Pry it out of my ice-cold dead hands!
I've had a 12" iBook G4 since 2005 and it's still my inclination notebook for browsing the internet, writing letters, and even reading pdf's. It's very lightweight and I upon the screen the perfect size. It's held up very well. One of the keys has a hairline crack and one of the rubber feet on the bottom prostrate off but I clean it every month or so and it still looks almost new.

My only criticism is that it gets a little warm so I keep it on top of a clipboard when holding it in my lap. No viruses, no crashes, no worries.

When netbooks started becoming understandable a couple of years ago, I had to laugh because I already have a lightweight, handy netbook. In fact, I'm using it aright now to write this review. Given a choice between a new Asus or Dell netbook or a employed iBook G4 for the same price, I would take the G4 without thinking about it for a second.
Most talented for a student!!!
LargelyI have recently bought a iBook G4. To tell you about it, this laptop has made me more happy than ever. I was always a Windows fanatic, but when I saw this, I got lively. This had everything, iLife, iTunes, etc. No more buying programs like anti-viruses or video editing software. Mac has it all!!!
Mine had integrated Bluetooth (worthy for transfering data from your cellphone), 802.11g Wireless (for on the go), and Mac OS X 10.4.11 (Which Macs are gambler than "Windows"). I compared my laptop to my other relatives' laptops. My aunt bought an HP laptop, and when she uses it, the fan blows like asinine and she isn't doing anything. The iBook didn't do that.
I could still be bragging about my Mac, but really! It's the best thing ever! I am not going back to Windows, EVER!!!, even if it was part of my teens. I never knew that these stuff existed.
Famed student computer
ibooks are a skilled student computer. I have purchased one for each of my 4 children and never regretted it. Since it is an Apple I don't have to worry about accidental clicking that could agency viruses and with the Microsoft Office 04, the kids can easily transfer their travel permit and projects to any pc with Office. The iBooks have been very durable and an economical alternative to the pricey pc laptops. Now with Leopard, I can custodian my kids computer time, set child/computer bedtimes, view/limit and the websites and I don't have to pay adventitious for this it is built in. The kids like all the games and the ability to control their laptops with say commands. I like that I can stay in control of my kids computers without being a computer scientist.

Education ESN 'educationally subnormal' keyboard
Not Creditable !! The Laptop looked very nice from the outside but some of the keys didn't industry. I purchased it on May 20, 2009 and still have not received a replacement or refund. Still waiting......
Incomparable computer
Renowned computer. Has the slot loading cd drive. Burn your own cd watch your favorite dvds. Over files from Microsoft Office to your other pcs. Search the internet without the fear of a virus. Repression your email. Great starter Mac. Best part is it has a very stable operating system, which means it won't smash as often (if ever) as some other pcs might.
Gosh Darnit
It is a millon times bigger than a Dell or any other windows computer. I should know i have a powerhouse windows xp pro machine. I use it for internet with the life-threatening card awesome and easy to install. It was worth the 80 buckaroos. I also bent the simplicity with my beloved 15 gb g3 iPod. The next computer may as well be a Mac it runs smoother faster and It is alot simpler. And 30 gb is abundance space also even with how much i use it 256 ram is beutiful on the macs. I gave it a 5 because about 2 weeks it changed my purpose on what a good computer should be.
Mac OSX is subtle, but the hardware is years out of date
I had this pad for a few months, having switched from the PC to the Mac platform. OSX is a contender... it has grown surely a bit over the past few years to be a true alternative to Windows. If you are the type who only needs a few core applications (as 90% of computer users are), you might honestly consider the Mac platform.

However, Apple needs to get their hardware out of the stone-age. The iBook is a toy, and a 800mhz processor *is indeed* ho-hum. Mac Zealots will tell you otherwise, that the G4 platform is more efficient than x86, etc. This may have been true five years ago, when the G4 was first introduced and comparable to the then-contemporary Pentium IV. But x86 has come a long way since then (Athlon64 anyone?), and the G4 is very, very slow in comparison. Weigh of the specs... 133mhz bus. 0.8GHZ processor, 256mb RAM, 30GB HD. The LCD is only capable of 1024x768, and is unusually dim and slow.

I could reccomend this notebook to students who need something simple to get their work done, living quarters users that surf the internet wirelessly throughout the house... or a second computer in homes already with a forceful desktop (like a G5...!) who would like roaming wireless capabilities. This isn't a pre-eminent machine for a moderate user who demands even a little power for applications.

Pros: Looks well turned out, feels good, fun to use and look at. Runs OSX, which is great.

Cons: Wimpy no toy under the hood. Don't expect much. The Powerbooks are a better choice for power-users, but Apple requirements to bring the G5 to their laptop line soon.

Favourable machine
I've got friends with this (I themselves have a 15" PowerBook) machine, and it's great. With OS X I recommend at least 512mb of ram, but for the casual narcotic addict, 256 would work.

And a side note...multiple users posted reviews about how old and outdated an 800mhz processor is; one fad these people don't know is that it's not x86. Anything non-x86 (POWER, PowerPC, SPARC, MIPS, Alpha, etc) is much control superiors than anything x86. One number I've heard is that in the days of 100mhz, anything non-x86 was 2 to 2.5 times the aid (100mhz Alpha = 200, 250mhz x86).

The queer fish netbook.
I've had a 12" iBook G4 since 2005 and it's still my predilection notebook for browsing the internet, writing letters, and even reading pdf's. Given a choice between a new Asus or Dell netbook or a familiar iBook G4 for the same price, I would take the G4 without thinking about it for a second.
