Died in less than 6 months
Do not sink your money on this battery. Out of the box it gives around 4 hours of life (though it often died when it said it had about 20 minutes radical), and within 4 months its life had noticeably gone down. After six months, I literally could not unplug my laptop from the power documentation without it immediately dying. I don't know if mine was defective, but it is just a terrible product, singularly after my last battery lasted almost 4 years and never even got this bad. Do yourself a favor and buy a high quality battery; to all intents cheaper in the long run anyway and not close to the hassle.

Ultimately, this product did not line out for us after two tries. However, I want to make note that the seller, Sunvalleytek (amazon sunvalley), was an unconditional pleasure to deal with and I recommend them as a seller. They did everything they could to make this work and were responsive and displayed the after to make sure that the customer was happy.

I will shop with them again in the future.

Works admirable-4 hour charge like Dell's, but for less than half the price!
Got this AND a unimportant bay battery for my latitude D630, for less than half the price of the Dell OEM battery. When using these TWO new not original market non-OEM batteries together, I get 5 or 6 hours (but without use of DVD in the secondary bay). This battery alone gives over 4 hours of use. Been using it a month or so without any problems or deterioration in sentience. Maybe it will lose holding power in a year (like my Dell OEM battery)...if it does, I'll get it recycled (don't fling away batteries! Bad for the environment!) and get another one of THESE batteries. I'll pay $30 or $40 per year for a new freestyle...but don't want to pay Dell $120 per year for the same thing!

Musical good battery life, not a perfect fit!!!
I had a LOT of unrest fitting my new 9-cell battery into the computer, I was really close to returning it after 100-odd tries when in the long run a little slamming got it in place. It's still not a perfect fit (part of it isn't flush with the comp. base) but it works and I'm getting about 6 hours batt. existence which is great. If you order this battery be prepared for a battle!

Reach-me-down Dell Latitude D620 laptop
I adapted to the same laptop at work for the about the last 3 years, and it is a work horse. I can buy a brand new commercial laptop for brace hundred bucks more, but I wanted the reliability of the professional business laptop. I have to say this used enterprise machine Laptop works well except for 3 problems: First, the battery only lasts 5 minutes, alternate, the DVD burner drive work sporadically (DVD door doesn't eject constantly, and it doesn't always detect the DVD or CD in it). Handed the laptop to my 11 year old daughter few weeks after purchase (Christmas honorarium), so I did not find out about these problems until 2 month after purchase. Contacted the seller, but the warrantee had expired after 30 generation of purchase, so I have to buy a battery and drive on my own. Third thing, the XP pro operating system was loaded on the computer, but the recovery disks were not included; I foresee the hard the hard drive doesn't crash sometime soon.

Give-away Notebook
I purchased the D620 for my daughter in college when her 2 yr old HP pad died due to an overheating problem (long story). After verifying that the D620 worked suitably by connecting to the internet and installing XP SP 3, I moved over one of the RAM chips (for a total of 1.5 GB) and the harddrive from the HP. I then installed Windows 7 and recovered her materials files (I didn't really expect a college student to use the flash drives that I gave her for backups). Lastly, I installed software including Office 7. Throughout the process the D620 performed immaculately. I tested it by running DVDs, Office apps and videos over the internet (after I set up a wireless relevance). This is one fine notebook, very fast and with a good display. Its only "short comings" are bald from the specs, i.e., no web cam, no media slots and no DVD burner. But these are clearly minor issues prearranged the price.

A damned good laptop
To impute to one of the other reviews one would think the reviewer is talking about a completely different machine. My kith and kin has two of these and we have experienced none of the problems that the other reviewer has mentioned. XP is a very stable platform and we'll see if Windows Seven will reside up to the hype. As far as poor sound I wonder compared to what? I've had several different laptops and netbooks and they signal articulate tinny compared to the D620. Besides, I hook the machine up to external powered speakers to hear to my music library.
Let's face it. If Dell built poor quality equipment they wouldn't be in function as long as they have been.

Part of garbage
Even meet an outdated OS like windows XP in 2009 this laptop under performs. It takes a very hunger time to start up programs, long load times, long boot times, indiscriminately freezes, hard drive problems after one year with further degraded performance, it's a sleazy mess. The laptop itself is very heavy and rugged but lugging that weight around to protect poor unreliable hardware seems foolish to me. The hard drive always requires at least 40% gain on read times even right after a de-frag. The track-pad stops working randomly and when using this laptop for line that can be a major problem and usually requires a restart. Internet explorer crashes randomly on this auto but works fine on any other system I have , VM-Ware takes roughly 10-15 mins to stack to a useable state on this laptop, the speakers are terrible, the usb ports require drivers to exertion properly and like most Dell systems I have used including the XPS the dvd-rom drive stops working and stops reading disc's after you inaugurate a few programs, rip music or change disc's a couple of times requiring yet another restart....the dvd rom icon even goes missing from my computer like you don't even have a dvd ambition to begin with?!?! Well I think I have covered everything and it's basically the whole damn computer.

Over all this laptop is nothing but grievous, cheap, unreliable garbage.
