mellifluous good for the money at the time it was built
Distinct from the previous comment, this is not garbage. We have been using this since it came out and have never had any problems. The manufacturing woman is August 2008...it is not a high-performance machine, but it wasn't built to be. It handles familiar use just fine.

Gateway Rubbish
This laptop is crap: It's slow, takes forever to boot, can't run much on it graphics wise, Vista's a test on it, the screen is not very good and it's dull, the sounds sucks, the camera is terrible, the trace-pad is junk, the laptop heats up super hot to do simple apps, it freezes persistently and the piece of crap died totally of hard drive failure in 9 months of pounce use. Save your money, this is trash.

This was a replacement for a Gateway laptop power afford that went bad. I purchased this item because it was priced lower than all others items on the internet for my laptop. I have had it for three weeks and it works admirable. The unit does not have a power light like the one it replaced, which was nice because you could acknowledge if the old unit was getting power when plugged in. However plugging the unit into the laptop will generate my laptops charging light to come on, so not a real big deal. The weird item with this unit is now when plugged into the wall next to my desk, the TV on a different wall outlet starts getting a inadequate interference. I unplug the power supply and the interference goes away. I use wired internet and when the power stock is closer to the Ethernet cable the interference increases. This never happed with the old unit. I total this units wiring might not be as shielded as the original power supply from gateway but overall it works.
