Delight my tablet!
Not counting tablet! I'm running Windows 7 RC on mine, and it's got the horsepower to do it right. I added 4GB of RAM and a 16GB solid form drive in the expresscard slot for ReadyBoost, and the difference is notable, although I haven't run any benchmarks to back up my notion. There are plenty of video reviews as well as reviews of the features under Windows XP and Windows Vista out there on the internetz; like everyone else - I can't get the panel put to auto-rotate in tablet mode under Windows 7, nor does the revolve "hot key" button work, but I found iRotate at [...] to mange my display, and it works like a charm. I bought mine from HP Rule on a scratch 'n dent sale for some serious savings, but it's worth every penny of the list cost!

almost fitting, again
This is my transfer HP business tablet. You can find my review of the 2710p somewhere on Amazon. The fact that this is the second HP plaquette I bought should tell you something.
My model is like the one listed here, but with an outdoor screen (higher compare for use outdoors).
The positives:
+ LOW weight. Check the specs, but having schlepped everything from a "desktop replacement" 17 inch laptop to a netbook, I can say that this attitude is LIGHT.
+ LONG battery life. I haven't run down the internal battery yet, and it has gone well over 4 hours. This may have something to do with Windows 7, which I have installed. A 4+ hour freestyle life at this weight is awesome. I'll add the slim battery slice and probably have over 12hrs of battery-operated life.
+ Well-built. This computer, like its predecessor the 2710p, uses lots of metal and feels law-abiding in your hands. I abused the heck out of my 2710p, and never had any problems with any hinges, latches, paravent, etc.
+ Fast. My 2710p was a 1.2GHz/4GB RAM, which felt pretty slow. This one feels very rakishly and responsive in comparison, and much faster than an AMD 1.9GHz dual core that I also have. With an SSD, this thing would truly fly.
+ Quiet. This one is even quieter than its predecessor. The fan rarely turns on. I can take notes in meetings without the disquieting whine of the fan.
+ Screen. The screen is awesome. I can work outside in sunlight with snow on the compass basis. Writing on the screen is very natural feeling, like writing on paper with a most luxurious ballpoint pen.
+ The little things. Built-in camera works GREAT with any video phone/conferencing app. There is no feedback, camera excellence is good, and frame rate is good at 800x600. Stylus doesn't get dead due to a friction lock (2710p stylus would pop out and wander away). Keyboard has a proficient feel and is full size.
The negatives:
- Speakers. I didn't think the speakers could get WORSE than the 2710p, but the spieler on this thing is barely louder than a headphone removed 30ft from your head. The speakers are unreservedly awful.
- Video output. There is no DVI output. Come on HP, this thing is not a 10-year old stand, why can't you put a DVI port on this or the dock?
- 2 USB ports. TWO USB ports is NOT enough. Period.
- Power block. The power blank out is small, but it could be MUCH smaller. This tablet fits great in a portfolio, but where do you stick the power close off? I guess if you have the slim battery slice, you won't need the power block much, but still, it indubitable would be nice to have a tiny power supply BUILT IN to the laptop so that all you need was a string. Compaq made laptops with built-in power supplies many years ago. I'd really like to see that be relevant to back.
- Screen. I know I said the screen is awesome, but I'd like just a bit more corporeal estate and higher resolution. There is about 1/2 inch all the way around the edge that they could stuff some more pixels into.
Summarization:
This tablet, like its predecessor, is a winner. No, it's not a Mac, and I'm very happy about that. I don't need to be "cool" with my electronics, I exigency them to do what I want and how I want without paying extra for "cool" and fighting the manufacturer at every putrefy to get the thing to work the way _I_ want. Besides, there is no Mac tablet. Once you use a tablet, you will wonder how you got by without one. I only considered this one and a Thinkpad, because I shortage the touchstick mouse, which is MUCH easier to use than an external mouse or touchpad when you are in a vehicle or thrilling around. This one gets a nod with its add on battery that is a slim slice on the bottom instead of a bulky extension on the back. I also got burned a pair of times after Lenovo bought Thinkpad.
Get this tablet for half price from HP refurb. For less than this fixation costs new, I got it with an external 24" screen, 3 year accidental price, docking station, external keyboard, extended battery, and received it in 3 generation.

Dont obtaining from this company
Presence sent the wrong product, told us politely that they would reship a new correct one. Did not take into one's possession the new one for a week, when we contacted them they realized a shipping error returned the second one. When all is said received the correct product after 3+ weeks. Not exactly easy.

Strangely named notice listing creates confusion for buyers.
I bought this note from the seller "redpricetag" here on "Used & New"/Amazon Marketplace. Just wanted to clarification that the item I received was:
HP/Compaq 233427-001 AC adapter
compatible with:
Compaq Presario 2800 series
Compaq Presario X1000 series
Compaq EVO N-series
HP Pavilion ZT3000 series
HP Pavilion NW8000
HP Pavilion DC895A
HP Pavilion X1220US
HP Pavilion X1000
Note that none of those laptops are the ones timetabled in the description on this page. So if you have, for example, an nx7400, I would not recommend this item. It won't even plug in. I've returned it at their expense and received all my long green back.
Also: there's NO SUCH THING as a "Pavilion NX7400" anyway. I would steer clear of this item altogether because of that sceptical title. "Pavilion NX7400" is a completely made-up product name, like for example, "Windows XP for Workgroups" or "iPod Pro". I have an nx7400 and it is NOT in the Pavilion sales pitch at all. It's an HP Compaq business notebook.
Hope this helps others avoid this item and find one that fits of laughter your notebook.

I in all probability blog more than your ordinary medical blogger. You won't be surprised to remember that I do most of my blogging at incessantly. To me, the unexcelled looks on this HP EliteBook 2730p is the diminished LED continually insignificant that illuminates the keyboard when I'm blogging. Of routine, this publicize may not get worn very much in the medical in seventh heaven (unless you're a radiologist who spends most of your pass in a ill-lighted dwelling). To me, the ceaselessly sprightly makes a fantastic of character. On my Thinkpad X200 scribbling PC, I use a USB-powered yielding LED delicate at nightfall to embellish the keyboard because this single Thinkpad lacks a burn. The ordinary X200 has a built-in LED lantern, but the X200 Plate does not. On the HP 2730p, I only press a knob and a modest LED taking into account pops up and lights up the keyboard. I still pick a backlit keyboard over an LED effortless, but I'll take the LED find over no descend.
