В начале этого небольшого обзора ноутбука Samsung X460 хотелось бы вкратце описать ситуацию, которая сложилась на рынке компактных ноутбуков, именуемых суб-ноутбуками. Данные решения были и остаются весьма дорогими, так как производители вынуждены тратить большие деньги на их разработку и производство. Большие затрататы на R&D и размещение дорогостоящих энергоэффективных, а, следовательно, и более дорогих комплектующих в очень компактном корпусе обусловило стоимость в районе $1500. Однако, с приходом нетбуков ситуация существенно изменилась. Благодаря невысокой стоимости компонентов данные решения смогли “откусить” большую часть пирога, именуемым рынком суб-ноутбуков. Ведь большинство потребителей, которые присматривались к этим решениям, уже имели в наличии один или два компьютера. Данный миниатюрный ПК был им необходим в качестве дорожного решения, способного удовлетворить их потребности вне стен дома или офиса. Впрочем, с большинством задач рядовой нетбук справляется без каких-либо проблем, к тому же он стоит в два, а то и в пять раз дешевле среднестатистического суб-ноутбука. Можно подумать, что на горизонте видна заря эпохи суб-ноутбуков. Но так считать нельзя, потому что у этих решений есть еще ряд преимуществ над “конкурентами”. Во-первых, производительность суб-ноутбуков все же выше, во-вторых, в их комплектацию, как правило, входит оптический накопитель. Текущие бюджетные мобильные платформы от ведущих производителей хотя и предоставляют схожую функциональность, но по уровню производительности им еще расти и расти даже. Кроме того, суб-ноутбуки комплектуются оптическим накопителем (устанавливаются непосредственно в ноутбук или же монтируются в док-станцию). Далеко не всегда и не везде есть доступ к высокоскоростному и практически бесплатному доступу в Сеть, как средству получения нужной информации. Поэтому в некоторых случаях без DVD-привода очень сложно обойтись, а внешний с интерфейсом USB обойдется минимум в $100, да и то, не всегда им удастся воспользоваться. Так, описав ситуацию, мы с чистой совестью можем перейти непосредственно к рассмотрению нашего Samsung X460, который является “увеличенной копией” модели X360, но такой же легкой, несмотря на возросший форм-фактор с 13.3″ до 14.1″. ...
