Reasonably in pink but the fan really stinks.
I attachment this laptop. I love that it is cute and, ok, I'm going to be politically incorrect here and say 'girlie'!
Inclusive, I think this is a quality machine. I like the keyboard- the keys are easy to crowding without being hypersensitive. The touch pad works well- my last Compaq laptop had a cruddy pad and it was terribly frustrating and frustrating.
Plenty of storage and great performance for most tasks. I am a photographer part of the spell and use this laptop to process a great many RAW files. It is a little on the slow side for resolving the images but the files are whopping and I have not set this computer up to maximize the graphics handling.
It has a decent camera and I have installed MS Office and some other software. It did not fail with a bunch of stuff pre-loaded, much of which I uninstalled. It would be nice if the first time the computer booted up it wasn't like some gentle of multimedia ad campaign, but easy enough to remedy.
So, finally- the reason this is getting one-take the lead? The fan has been going nuts. It runs constantly, even when I only have one window open. And it's not just that it runs... it makes a abominable noise as it does so- some people have compared it to various aircraft- jumbo jet to helicopter. I've done lots of probe online in an effort to remedy this issue and it looks like TONS of Sony VAIO's have the same refractory. Though I am still under warranty, there is no service center in my area- AND I LIVE ON THE PERIPHERY OF SILICON VALLEY! I would have to pay to send the laptop in and no certify on how long it will take to repair, some customers have waited a month or two to receive warranty worship army! Crazy! I think I need to send it in but I am dreading having to switch to another laptop mainly if it is going to be a couple of months.
Still, I can't decide what is more annoying- a computer that I can't have a conversation over because it is so loud or having to do business with Sony's so-called "customer care"- which after a couple of calls on the fan issue, I've found to be more of a "customer I-don't-concern" department.
This situation, while maybe is a risk you run with any complex electronic equipment, has definitely soured me on the idea of buying a Sony anything. I think it is pretty miserable that the company knows there is an egress with these components and yet haven't seen fit to offer their consumers a fix.
That's what I get for allowing the pretty rosy color to influence my purchase choice!

No More Sony for me!
No more Sony anything for me.
My reddish pink laptop started making loud noises and CPU utlization goes up to 40% and stays there for having one browser window with no jam-ins opened.
Closing the lid does not put the computer to sleep as set. Sony Backup thing keeps popping up when computer is turned on and no way to on it go away, even after clicking "don't show again".
Media control button stopped working.
Use buttons that adjusts the brightness, sound, screen position stopped working.
Movies started flickering.
I've only had this computer for 3 months. Love the pinkness and hate everything else.
Spent hours talking to tech tolerate on Dec 23 online and on the phone. Was told to take computer into local service desk. Found one at Beverly Fore and spent Christmas Eve there. Technician told me I have to have the receipt with me (would be nice for them to tell me when I called to declare the appointment). And that they have to ship in the computer and it would take at least 2 weeks for me to get it back because the Service Desk can't do anything at the store except help customers freight in the computer.
Spent another 45 min on the phone with Service Center on the phone to schedule someone to awaken out instead.
Was told technician would come out and fix it in 3 business days. 3 task days have come and gone... no calls.. so called in today to find out what's up. Been on the phone for 2 hours now precisely to try to get the time the technician would come out.
Asked them what part was shipped out to fix these problems and was told "the fan". Wonderful FAN!!! A simple fan can fix all these issues!!!!
Turns out that Sony outsource the service to a company called Nexicore and after 2 hours, Sony unbiased told me here's the number to Nexicore... try calling them. Sweet deal. Back to Dell from now on.

Sony Laptop

The laptop is gracious and works good, but I have problem with Word, when ever I open it asked me to enter my prodcut key. I entered the one which is in the back placement of laptop did not work either.

I am still erudition about my VAIO. It works right now for what I need.
I wish i would have looked around for a better behave (price wise) on this computer.

superlatively pink
I mate my new laptop. The keys are perfectly spaced, the small screen is awesome, the rosy is perfect. I got this computer to go to college and I am so glad I did. I used to have another brand, but I always had issues. So far, this computer has done everything I wanted and has superb features. I would highly recommend one if you dont want a mac or dell. Oh yea, the color is loving terrible.
